Exactly what it sounds like, mass-produced furniture, is a range of furniture that has been produced en masse, normally within a factory setting. Mass-produced furniture will often have been created on a large production line, within a factory that is churning out multiple products every few minutes.
The machine will often cut, glue and carry out any other necessary furniture creating works, without little to no human interaction or input. While mass-produced and machine-made furniture has its advantages, it’s cheaper to create and therefore a cost-effective solution for the end user.
Handmade furniture is made using only hand-held tools or small, manually operated machines, usually by an individual or small team within a workshop environment. Handmade materials will have human input at every stage of the journey, from sourcing and preparing the materials through to creation.
